So called copper city in the near of Aachen, with a beautiful old town and castle, best to visit as part of a guided tour.

Old imperial city of Charlemagne, with famous cathedral, absolutely worth seeing, also great for shopping with small lanes and cobblestone pavement. Various museums, Carolus Thermal spa.

Monschau

The "Pearl of the Eifel" is a "must see" for all who visit our region. Old cobblestone streets, historical mustard mill, glass museum, brewery museum, museum "Rotes Haus".

Eifel villages
Some beautiful small villages in the Eifel are nice for a stroll, e.g. Nideggen or Bad Münstereifel.

 
Euregio

Located in the 3-country corner Germany-Belgium-Netherlands, cities in Belgium (e.g. Eupen) or the Netherlands (e.g. Maastricht) can also be reached quickly and are great for shopping or a day trip.
At the 3-country corner there are beautiful hiking trails and a large children's playground with a maze.

Nationalpark Eifel

The first national park in NRW, only 25 kilometres from the apartment.
Free ranger tours, carriage rides across the Dreiborn plateau, theme tours at one's own initiative.

 

In addition, lots of information about animals and plants at exhibitions in the national park gates.

 

Boat trips on the lake Rursee, one of the largest artificial lakes in Germany. Boat rental, canoe rental, bike rental etc.

 

Former "Ordensburg" Vogelsang, a historically important place from the time of National Socialism, with free daily guided tours and two great permanent exhibitions - highly recommendable!
